Reviving this blog

Hello again to my followers if you’re still out there. I’d like to revitalize this blog now that I have access to dictation again. I have not been able to dictate for over a year and a half. Shortly after I posted my last blog I lost access to the software I was using to dictate these blog posts. The good news is with the new dictation bridge project I have been participating in I should be able to blog again more frequently. In fact I am using the prototype of dictation bridge to create this blog post.

why I use dictation

I've been using computers for 32 years now. As a blind person every single interaction with a computer I have is through the keyboard or in this case through dictation. After all these years and countless computers with poor ergonomics my hands have become unable to keep up with the amount of keyboarding I need to do. Also, those of you who know me know I am an incredibly poor speller and writing a blog without using dictation would be impossible. Being able to dictate my content means that I am assured things are spelled correctly except for the homonyms. So now that I have access to dictation again through the dictation bridge project, I hope to provide you with more accessibility blog posts. And hey why not a few more good recipes and such. I do have one or two I started drafting a long time ago and may revitalize for you.

Please consider Donating to the dictation bridge project at the below link and help other people who are blind and visually impaired dictate their way onto the World Wide Web.
